JK Alliance for Peace and Resolution holds Open discussion on Dialogue , way to resolve Conflict,

Jammu 08 Apr ........On the occasion of Open House Discussion on Dialogue as the Best way to resolve Conflict, Syed Basharat Hussain President Jammu Kashmir Alliance for Peace and Conflict Resolution stressed on the urgent need to re-commit to interreligious and intercultural, inter regional dialogue and the promotion of tolerance, diversity and a culture of peace in Jammu and Kashmir .
He focused that, this forum will serve as a unique platform to share knowledge and explore innovative ways of promoting inclusive approaches to conflict prevention and Resolutions as a pathway for sustaining peace and development in JK.
While speaking on this occasion , Peer Ishfaq Bukhari Patron Karwani Shahi Hamadhan R.A stressed upon that
Kashmir bleeds and for the past seven decades the people of Kashmir remain trapped in this status quo. The baggage of history weighs heavy on us and the change in this shift is possible only through sustained unconditional dialogue, which in today’s world is the most civilised and humane way to resolve conflicts.
Renowned Social Activist Syed Aijaz Kashani highlighted an Islamic concept of peace; the concept of justice in Islam, motivations for humanitarian work in Islam and the duty to work for peace.
Furthermore both Islam and Salam (“peace”) are derived from the same root in Arabic, Two words that share the same root in the Arabic language also share a relationship in meaning.
Mohammad Hussian highlighted the Kashmir Conflict is a legacy of the past. The international community had given Pakistan and India many chances to resolve the outstanding issues. Right from partition apart from UN SC resolutions various agreements, mediations and talks have been articulated between the two nations. Tashkent Agreement, Shimla Agreement, Lahore Declaration, Agra Summit, Peace Process and Confidence Building Measures are the glaring examples. At the bilateral approach, the political leadership of both the countries have failed because prior to every sincere approach towards the resolution, Politically motivated opportunistic preconditions are placed which are not acceptable to one or the other stake holders and Kashmiri people due to power politics of two nuclear powers. Kashmir is a place of chaos and the relations between two Countries affects affairs of JK and kashmiri people are like sandwich between two powers .
Sameer Bukhari prominent Social Reformer, stressed upon the Social Reformation as a tool for Conflict Resolution and highlighted various means and tools for conflict prevention and Resolution.
India and Pakistan should repair the damage they have done from past 65 years and pledge to cooperate in economic, technological and social areas. The Resolution of kashmir can be achieved by soft hand, making Line of Control as Line of cooperation to diminish and eliminate the mistrust and stubbornness between the two Power nations
Mohd Akbar, an Educationist from central kashmir said , that the members to SAARC have made postponements of SAARC Summits on five occasions. All regional powers are aware of the fact that the blame game of two Nations spoils the geopolitical landscape of South Asia instead of making things better domestically. If India and Pakistan want to make South Asia a peaceful and prosperous region, they have to adopt ideology of non-violence.
Syed Basharat while concluding the session made the following observations, that India and Pakistan should resume the dialogue process and engage all the stake holders including the people of Jammu and Kashmir in a sustained unconditional dialogue aimed at resolving Kashmir issue and which will be imperative for lasting peace in South Asian Region. In order to move forward on Kashmir, there should be a proper mechanism.
