Jammu 27 Apr..........In an ongoing initiative three days long teacher-student training workshop on popularization of science activities under ST Plan (Project) Govt. of India was concluded at Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School, Rajouri which was organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society (NCURDS) Jammu and Vigyan Prasar, Deptt. of Science and Technology  Noida.

Workshop inauguration was led by Mohd. Ashraf Rather Chief Education Officer Rajouri in the presence of Sh. Abdul Rauf Dar Principal Govt. Girls Hr. Sec. School Rajouri among which dozens of dignitaries and various teachers students from different schools  took participation. As the motive of the workshop is to study nature and its phenomena, various scientific concepts and teaching tools such as Seed Germination by various method, Pooter (insect Catcher), Sweep Net (Butterfly Catcher), Under Water Viewer, vermicarium, antarium, terrarium etc was prepared using household materials by the team of resource persons including Dr. Ashiq Hussain Principal Govt. Degree College Chatroo, Shamaile Nabi Asstt Prof. Galgotia Colege Noida and Mr. Kuldeep Gupta Master GGHS Simbal Camp.

The participants went for the nature walk to the wildlife sanctuary near Dhudadari Temple Rajouri that was companied by the team of resource persons where they get to know about the Nature and to study about the plants and animals closely. The resource persons explained them the various activities to explore nature in and around surroundings in a very coherent way. The participants learnt about tree profile, bark print, soil profile, leaf structure, leaf print, study of insects andother organisms and so on.
Mr. Kuldeep Gupta, resource person explained the concept of food chain and food web in a play way method for its better understanding with fun. In the valedictory program Dr. Ashaq Hussain presented a brief report of the program which was followed by an address by Mohd. Ashraf Rather Chief Education Officer Rajouri who lauded the efforts of Vigyan Prasar Deptt. of Science and Technology Noida and NCURDS for arranging such an activity based program for the budding scientists of the District. Mr. Abdul Rauf Dar Principal GGHSS, Rajouri also applauded the efforts of NCURDS for organizing such an informative workshop for the students as well as teachers in this far flung region of PirPanjal.
While receiving the feedback from the participants, certificates and activity based material and other necessary material related to the study of nature was distributed among the participants.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Zaffar Ullah Khan Founder Secretary NCURDS who while thanking Mr. B. K. Tyagi Head Vigyan Prasar Deptt. of Science and Technology Govt. of India Noida for this informative program and extended thanks to the CEO Rajouri and Principal GGHSS Rajouri for lending a helping hand and providing the space for organizing such informative programme.
